Understanding Your Target Audience

All business owners love it when their customers are totally in line with what they offer and have no objections whatsoever. Those types of clients do exist, and it’s just a matter of figuring out how to position YOUR brand in front of them. How do you get your dream client to see you and buy from you?

It all starts with figuring out who they are. What do they look like, act like, and genuinely enjoy doing? What motivates them? Where do they work? How old are they? Are they married? Conduct plenty of research surrounding the type of person you want to be bringing in. Dig up AS MUCH information on them as possible (in a non-creepy way of course).

After you have given your dream client a hypothetical persona, put yourself in their shoes. Identify their pain points, goals, and motivations behind why they do what they do. Then ask yourself how your service or product would be attractive to them and solve their problems? Think of ways that would draw this type of person into your business and fall in love with what you offer!

Analyzing and understanding your target audience is an ongoing process, because we are all living, breathing human beings that change our mind, grow and evolve all. the. time. So be patient, but keep up with it, and you will always be hitting the mark! No more people walking all over you or trying to undervalue you and your product or service!

Your dream clients will want to work with you because they understand your value, your offer, and know what it will do for them. Once you start speaking to those people, you won’t need to sell to anyone.

I hope that gives you a little bit more insight into understanding your target audience and how you can reach them. It’s so important to figure that out - because as Seth Godin, marketer and best-selling author, states:

“When you speak to everyone, you speak to no one.”
